Dralon GmbH places great importance on a transparent carbon footprint. What production has succeeded in is now being rigorously expanded to logistics. With the Italian service provider, SAE, the acrylic fibre manufacturer has found a suitable partner – the intermodal specialist now belongs to the few “preferred carriers”. A triumphant return: dralon® back at the Heimtextil 2010.
For the first time after the sale to the Italian
Faver-group 10 years ago, the Dralon GmbH was
again prominently represented at the Heimtextil
in Frankfurt. Numerous interested visitors were
greeted at the Dralon exhibition stand in the foyer
of hall 4.
“Sustainability has high priority”
During the interview, Manfred Borchers, sales and marketing manager of Dralon GmbH, explained that the company has commissioned a “Carbon Footprint” – a climatic impact study. Apart from the actual production process, the consultants Systain Consulting will also investigate and evaluate the preceding production stages, ranging from the manufacture of fabricated materials, extraction of raw materials and transport, to the customers themselves. The calculations will be made in accordance with ISO 14040 / ISO 14044 for product ecoevaluations and the specifications of PAS 2050:2008 for climatic impact studies. At the coming Heimtextil fair, Dralon will show that the excellent product characteristics of Dralon are fully in harmony with the environment.
